Choosing a career in healthcare, more specifically in a laboratory, can be a big decision. At Gamma-Dynacare, we are always looking for talented people to help us serve our patients and clients, as well as grow our business.
Gamma-Dynacare offers positions in areas such as Microbiology, Hematology, Chemistry, Anatomical Pathology and Research and Development, to name a few. If you have an interest in science and want to help others, a career in the medical laboratory field may be right for you.
Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT)
Working in the highly automated, high-tech world of laboratories, MLTs conduct and interpret test results on human specimens. Their analyses provide physicians with critical diagnostic information to help in their decision making. MLTs are graduates of accredited programs at post-secondary institutions and are certified by the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS). They are governed by the Regulated Health Professions Act and by their professional provincial body, the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists.
Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA)
MLAs provide pre-analytical services, working directly with patients collecting the specimens in Patient Services Centres or working in laboratories processing specimens and preparing reagents for use in testing. Approved training programs are available from a variety of private, vocational and community colleges. Clinical placements also are provided by community laboratories.
